STEPHEN DEMPSEY – 2007 MENS EUROPEAN POOL CHAMPION

 Stephen Dempsey from Cootehill in Cavan made history in England in February when he became the first Irishman and indeed the youngest ever at 18 years old to become European men’s pool champion. Along his way to winning the title Stephen defeated among others 4 professional pool players most notably the 2005 World Pool Champion Gareth Potts in the Semi-Final.

It was a breathtaking display form Stephen and an enormous achievement at such a young age. Stephen is now regarded as the one truly world class player that exists in Ireland and this win will surely be just the start of much more success in the future.

Stevie D plays the game in a hugely positive, freeflowing manner which makes him hugely entertaining to watch. Add to this Stephen’s stunning array of trickshots and his ability to play speed pool and you have an excellent exhibitionist. Included in a night’s exhibition by Stephen would be the following:

  1. Local players play against the current European Pool Champion
  2. See some of the most amazing shots ever on a pool table
  3. See a stunning array of trickshots.
  4. A number of attempts at speed pool.
  5. If required presentation of trophies for local leagues/competitions etc.
