The Pool Federation of Wales (PFW) start the PFW Grand Prix in April. This is a series of 5 events with prize money totalling £17,000. These tournaments are open to non-Welsh players. The PFW also run a Ladies and Junior Tour.

The Irish Pool Championships – the biggest annual pool competition in Ireland takes place in the County Arms Hotel, Birr from March 20th – 22nd. It is expected that almost 300 players will compete for titles in U-15, U-18, U-21, Ladies and Men’s events. This year’s competitions promise to be the most keenly contested ever, with more and more new players competing all the time. More

Gareth Potts (England) won the 2008 World 8ball Pool (Mens) Championships in Blackpool. Potts (pictured right) became the first player to win the coveted trophy for the 3rd time.
