Malta won the 2008 European Team Championships (Mens A Division)
Malta took full advantage of playing at home to beat the favourites England. It obviously produces the best from the Maltese players as this is the second time Malta have won the title, their previous success in 2002 was also on home ground. Read more

August - England

Lynette Horsburgh (Scotland) is the new Ladies World Champion. Josh Craze (Wales) came back from 7-2 down to beat Karl Sutton (England) 8-7 to become the 2008 Under 21's World Champion. To find out all the scores and results from this year's World Championships click here

July - Belgium
Unseeded David Verey beat No1 Johan Depoorter to claim the Belgian Pool Championships in Mons. National team captain Verey saved his best form for the final as Depoorter failed to reproduce his form from earlier rounds, going down 6-1. This means Depoorter narrowly failed in his quest to become the first player to defend this title, having won the crown last year. The team title was won by Pool Brothers, who played with brio(!) to edge out Bad Boys 5-3 in the final. more

2008 WEPF World 8Ball Pool Championships
Gareth Potts (England) won the 2008 World 8ball Pool (Mens) Championships in Blackpool. Potts (pictured right) became the first player to win the coveted trophy for the 3rd time.
